ICELAND IN WINTER - ICE CAVE AND NORTHERN LIGHTS
Experience the wild landscape and embrace the magic of the season!
Join us on this journey, where each click of your camera unveils a new facet of Iceland's winter tapestry. Capture the essence of this frozen paradise and etch its beauty into your photography portfolio.
Iceland stands tall among the dream destinations for photographers worldwide, and for good reason. Its landscape is unparalleled, presenting scenes that are truly exclusive to this corner of the globe. From rugged mountain peaks and cascading waterfalls to black sand beaches and glaciers, the diversity of Iceland's terrain seems boundless.
In winter, when northern lights are dancing up in the sky and the landscape gets cloaked in a pristine white blanket of snow, some say that Iceland becomes even more awe-inspiring. The scenery takes on a nearly monochromatic allure and a contrasts between that white blanket and black volcanic rocks and sand is truly remarkable. The winter months are also a great opportunity to visit ice caves, which will be the main focus of this winter trip.

Trip description
During this 6-day tour, we will visit the most popular places in the south, such as the Skogafoss, Seljalandsfoss and Kvernufoss waterfalls, the Jökulsárlón Lagoon and Diamond Beach, Stokksnes, the Fjadrárgljúfur canyon and one of the most beautiful and dangerous black beaches in the world. That’s to name a few. If time allows, we will also see some Icelandic classics at the Golden Circle and maybe we’ll even take a dive in one of the hot-springs!
As we travel through these diverse locations, the magnificent views will open up for us at each turn. Frozen cascades of waterfalls and unnamed peaks covered in snow will constantly amaze us. Additionally, there’s a good chance that aurora will be dancing across the night sky, and when she does we'll be fully prepared!
Of course, the main attraction of this trip will be visiting the amazing Ice Cave. Together we will discover the charming nooks and crannies of the ice maze and admire the stunning ice formations with our experienced and local guide! This would be a private tour which will give us opportunity not only to start the trip before all the other group tours, but also spend much more time in the ice cave itself.
Our schedule is flexible and we will have plenty of remarkable locations situated close to our accommodations. This proximity allows us to swiftly adjust to weather and go to the places where conditions are best.
Participants will receive access to the workshop group on Facebook, where we share tips and advice on arriving in Iceland, equipment needed for a winter photo trip, and also conduct casual discussions - we want our trip to be completely friendly and without formal barriers.
The detailed program of the winter photography trip to Iceland with elements of photography workshops that participants will receive is filled with stunning locations and landscapes. We will visit them depending on weather conditions and the level of security. After all, this is the distant, harsh and wild north!

Last words
The trip to Iceland in winter would be an unforgettable journey. We want to show you some magnificent locations and give you opportunity for some jaw-dropping shots. Period between February and March is a great time to visit Iceland! During this season, the sun maintains a low trajectory throughout the whole day, allowing for photography opportunities across various locations. Consequently, our schedule isn't solely centered on golden hour or sunrise/sunset. Instead, we opt for extended sessions, exploring multiple sites and culminating with a sunset to maximize the photographic potential of each day! There’s also a very high chance of seeing the Northern Lights and best time to visit Ice Caves! During these 6 days, we will delve into the secrets of Iceland's fascinating frozen landscapes, visit some of the most beautiful places in the south of the island and together we will develop our photography skills in the field, sharing experiences, practical tips and improving technique.
