Trip description

Scotland is a true paradise for nature lovers. Here, where mountains meet the sea and hills cut through wide valleys, every step unveils a new panorama of breathtaking views. This adventure and photography expedition is perfect for those who love exploring breathtaking landscapes in a small, friendly group.

During this 8-day journey, we’ll explore the Scottish Highlands, mainly the areas of Glencoe and the beautiful Isle of Skye, where we’ll spend three nights. 

The Highlands present a breathtaking backdrop for outdoor enthusiasts, with opportunities for hiking and exploring the vast, untamed wilderness. The Isle of Skye, with its rugged cliffs and picturesque villages, is a highlight for those seeking natural beauty and a sense of adventure and Glencoe, with its dramatic valleys and towering peaks is a must-visit destination for hikers, photographers, and nature lovers alike.

Our itinerary includes iconic locations like the Glenfinnan Viaduct, famous from Harry Potter, and mystical castle ruins such as Eilean Donan, Stalker, Dunvegan, Kilchurn, and Lennox. We’ll also visit crystal-clear lakes like Loch Ness, Loch Glass, and Lochan Urr, along with unique rock formations like the Old Man of Storr, Quiraing, and The Three Sisters. We will also not miss some of the magical waterfalls like Fairy Pools, Plodda Falls or Devil´s Pulpit.

Don’t worry, you don’t need to have any knowledge of photography or own specialised equipment – even a phone will do! Also. we will spend the time giving you each direct guidance, so our personal gear will be available for you to try and see if you’ll like it. All you need is enthusiasm! Together, we’ll practice landscape photography, explain the basics of good composition, and share our experiences. And if you won’t be interested in learning photography, you’ll still return from the trip with an incredible souvenirs in the form of photographs we’ll take of you.

Participants will receive access to the workshop group on Facebook, where we share tips and advices about trip to Scotland and also conduct casual discussions - we want our trip to be completely friendly and without formal barriers.

The detailed program and mini-guide with full packing list, that only participants will receive is filled with stunning locations and landscapes. We will visit them depending on weather conditions and the level of security.

TRANSPORT: We will be traveling in two fully insured cars, that will get as safely to all destinations

ACCOMMODATION: During trip to Scotland, we’ll stay in comfortable guesthouses and cottages that reflect the charm of traditional Scottish architecture. We’ll even spend a few nights in castle! Surrounded by Scotland’s fascinating wild nature and authentic history, our accommodations will provide a unique experience. We will be staying in double rooms with private bathrooms. Some locations on top will offer shared living room and fully equipped kitchen, so we can cook dinner together, while the others will have some restaurant options.

PHYSICAL DIFFICULTY: This trip is suitable for anyone with a moderate fitness level who enjoys exploring the outdoors. No advanced hiking experience is necessary! The pace of exploration will be relaxed, and the itinerary allows for plenty of breaks. For those who prefer less walking, scenic views are often accessible from nearby car parks or short walks. Some locations however, like the Quiraing or Old Man of Storr, offer more challenging hikes with steeper inclines, rocky sections and longer distances. Comfortable and waterproof hiking shoes will be important on this trip.

  • Elements of an outdoor landscape photography workshop and shooting in unforgettable locations, as well as individual consultation, including post-processing session in the form of a remote individual workshop upon return;

  • Professional photographic tuition and guidance of 2 photographers/leaders - that will take care of you during the trip and will capture your most beautiful moments for you (in case you’re not interested to learn photography and just want to have fun);

  • 7 nights of comfortable accommodation in guesthouses and cottages. You will sleep in double room with private bathrooms;

  • Ferry cruise to the Isle of Skye;

  • Rental of cars with fully insurance and transportation on ground, together with costs of fuel;

  • All parking fees and tolls;

  • Travel insurance - Signal Iduna EUROPA: Medical costs EUR 60.000, Accident insurance PLN 15.000, luggage PLN 1000;

    What’s NOT included:

  • Flights to/from Scotland (We will meet at Edinburgh Airport, from where we’ll begin the journey together – we plan to depart from Edinburgh no later than 4–5 PM);

  • Meals (we encourage communal cooking in our kitchen with mountain views—there’s no better way to bond!);

  • Other costs not mentioned in the previous point (fx. entrance tickets to castles, such as Eilean Donan Castle (£12), and an optional visit to a whisky distillery)

Unlike trips focused solely on golden hour or sunrise and sunset, we’ll embrace the extended daylight to explore and photograph multiple locations each day. Our schedule will allow us to make the most of the unique light and changing weather, culminating with sunset sessions to enhance the photographic potential of every moment. During these 8 days, we’ll visit well-known and hidden gems, honing our photography skills in the field, sharing practical tips, and creating unforgettable memories of Scotland’s majestic beauty.

This trip is aimed to anyone who wants to learn or improve their photography, so all levels of experience are welcome. Whether you’re looking to only discover new photographic locations, or a beginner looking to kickstart their photographic journey with even your phone , we will take the time to improve your photography skillset and ensure that you gain valuable knowledge and come back home with images you can be proud of.

If you think that photography is not for you then don’t worry. You will have 2 professional photographers taking care of you! They will take high quality photos of you, which will be a beautiful and memorable souvenir from the trip.
