Trip description

During this photo expedition to Senja, we will visit the most unique photo spots, including the iconic: Segla, Hesten, the Devil's Teeth panorama from Tungeneset, the spectacular pass between the peaks of Barden and Daven with the Ørnfjord panorama, Bergsbotn Viewpoint, Ersfjord Beach, the unique town of Husøy, Ånderdalen National Park, fishing villages, and also other parts of the wonderful west coast of the island, which is dotted with sandy and rocky beaches and photogenic mountains. During our stay on Senja, we will hike some trails with snowshoes and enjoy the white paradise of the Arctic.

As we travel through these diverse locations, the magnificent views will open up for us at each turn. Senja really is an untouched photography paradise, with snow-capped jagged peaks, incredible coastal scenery, traditional fishing villages and frozen fjords. Often referred by visitors as Norway in miniature.

Winter on Senja is also a great opportunity to admire the Northern Lights. The snow-covered landscape spectacularly highlights the midnight lights swirling in the sky. Senja is considered one of the best places to photograph this phenomenon, and 2025 is forecast to be one of the the best year for aurora observations! We’ll be keeping an eye on conditions and chasing the Aurora every chance we get.

Our schedule is flexible and we will have plenty of remarkable locations situated close to our accommodations. This proximity allows us to swiftly adjust to weather and go to the places where conditions are best.

Participants will receive access to the workshop group on Facebook, where we share tips and advice on arriving in Iceland, equipment needed for a winter photo trip, and also conduct casual discussions - we want our trip to be completely friendly and without formal barriers.

The detailed program of the winter photography trip to Iceland with elements of photography workshops that only participants will receive is filled with stunning locations and landscapes. We will visit them depending on weather conditions and the level of security. After all, this is the distant, harsh and wild north!

Last words

The trip to Senja - Norway in winter would be an unforgettable journey. We want to show you some magnificent locations and give you opportunity for some jaw-dropping shots. It is a great time to visit Senja! March blankets Senja in a pristine layer of snow, transforming it into a winter wonderland straight out of a fairytale. During this season, the sun maintains a low trajectory throughout the whole day, allowing for photography opportunities across various locations. Consequently, our schedule isn't solely centered on golden hour or sunrise/sunset. Instead, we opt for extended sessions, exploring multiple sites and culminating with a sunset to maximize the photographic potential of each day! It is also the perfect time to witness nature's most spectacular light show – the mesmerizing Northern Lights. During these 6 days, we will delve into the secrets of Senja’s fascinating frozen landscapes, visit some of the most beautiful and still unknown places and together we will develop our photography skills in the field, sharing experiences, practical tips and improving technique.

This trip is aimed to anyone who wants to learn or improve their photography, so all levels of experience are welcome. Whether you’re looking to only discover new photographic locations, or a beginner looking to kickstart their photographic journey with even your phone , we will take the time to improve your photography skillset and ensure that you gain valuable knowledge and come back home with images you can be proud of.

If you think that photography is not for you then don’t worry. You will have 2 professional photographers taking care of you! They will take high quality photos of you, which will be a beautiful and memorable souvenir from the trip.

We want to share our passion with you! Not only for photography but also for extraordinary destinations. And finally - we would like you to feel on this trip like with a group of friends, so you will create unforgettable memories of an epic adventure with some great company of people that share the same passion.
